Relay Carnival Rally (Relay Kick-off)- January 15th. We got some great information at the Rally tonight. I am so excited for this year. I think this will be a great opportunity to bring together our Divisions and Work Centers. This year we are going to be combining with the other CSADD groups on base to pool our resources and get the best possible outcome this year. FRC NW will be joining with VP-40 CSADD as well as NASWI as a command. Our Team name is NASWI CSADD. The link below will take you to the Relay page for our team. Please sign up and join our team. If you would like to help out but you just do not have the extra time to help out, your donations are always very appreciated.

January-Welcome to the New Year!
This month’s topic for CSADD is planning a Family during
your Navy career and of course this includes mentioning our Fleet and Family
Support Centers. I know from personal experience that not all families are made
according to a perfect plan. Whether or not your family is made or expanded on
purpose, there are so many resources out there for you and your new attachments
to use. Our Fleet and Family support center is the very best resource, anyone
in the civilian world would be hard pressed to find better help for your family
without it costing an arm and a leg.
The numerous resources offered to us range from Family
Support Programs such as mental help and family counseling for those having a
hard time coping and also Finance management for those just getting going or
falling on hard times. Financial management is very important for those that
will be moving out into town, especially for those who have never had a chance
to live on their own yet. Please take the time to plan ahead so you don’t have
to pay for it later (pun intended).
Family help is not
the only thing that we can get for free from so many people. Career counseling
from your friendly neighborhood divisional or command career counselor is
always there for you. It is literally their job!! One of the biggest resources
we can use for our individual careers is our fellow shipmates. Ask your
supervisors, your LPO’s or even a motivated 2nd or 3rd
will be more than willing to give you some guidance. Hint: most will be flattered
if they are the ones that you chose to seek knowledge from! ****Also you can always
post any questions you have here and I will help you in any way that you may
need, even if you just need some advice! It’s our job here too J****

So, we realized that it has been a while since we did an update post on the meeting and such, so here it is:
First thank you to all that helped in the set up and clean up for the Halloween Party. It was a smaller crowd but good times nevertheless. We gave out candy boxes to the best costumes for the kiddos that showed up, a special lib chit to the winner of the Jell-O eating contest, and two more to the CSADD guys that helped out the most consistently with the meetings and the event its self. Those two were AT3 Costa and ATAN Delarosapina. Thank you guys. FYI I am still working on getting the eating contest video on the blog, sorry for the delay.
The next meeting will be Tuesday 5th at 1300. Bring ideas of fundraising and groups that we can help out with. Please spread the word, we need numbers to pull off some of the things we will be wanting to accomplish. Speaking of numbers...
I also wanted to let ya'll know that I have started a Relay for Life team. I know the actual relay isn't until May, but I figured the sooner we started the better off we will be. The team name is FRC CSADD. I am also working on getting a good sponsor for the team. You can join now or wait til later. Remember this will be one of the big events that CSADD is working towards, the more participation we have, the bigger difference we can make. Strength in numbers!!
